New Raincoats
Sorry for not updating the dogs' news for long...long...long time:)
Jenny was away from October to November, then Christmas...New Year...Time flys...
2012 has been so wet so quite often our dogs have their smart raincoats on. These coats
work well, they definitely bring much less mess into the house now. More important is
that they are all happy to wear it, unlike Mack's previous coat, it was dumped because
Mack refused to go out in it.
Just hope we will have better weather in 2013.

Daisy&Tilly are here
We haven't entered any shows since the beginning of September. So no show news updates. Although I still take Harley to the local ring crafts to do the training once two weeks, it is nice to meet friends and their dogs there...
This week we have Daisy who is the litter sister of Harley and her little sister Tilly - Dragon's litter sister here. It is not difficult to manage five in the house or take them for a walk because they generally are very good dogs, but taking photos of five on my own was extremely challenging, I did it:-)

Dragon has found his new home
We have been quite busy in the last a few days after we came back from Wales. We had a wedding to attend in Derby then a friend's BQQ party. We didn't have time to update the news about Dragon.
Finally Dragon has found his new home last week. The new family is our neighbour who live only 3 minutes walk from ours. We were thrilled by their decision because we can still see him regularly.
We are pleased to say that Dragon has settled down with his new home well, he is very much loved and cared for xx

Mupties Imperial Dragon At 12 1/2 weeks
The photo was taken today, Dragon is just under 3 months.
He is a very clever boy and has already been house trained for over a week. He sleeps seven to eight hours at night in his cage without wetting his beds. He is really a little star.
We will go to Wales from the coming Monday for a week. It seems likely Dragon will come with us in the caravan. He has already enjoyed his walks with the other dogs for over a week and very good at walking on a lead so hopefully he will enjoy his first caravan trip next week.
We are still looking for a good home for him.

Dragon
Now Dragon is on his own now we have allowed him much more access to the living room to allow him to play with Harley mostly............ they really get on well and Harley is very gentle with him. As we train our dogs to go to the toilet on command we really have not had a problem with him making any sort of mess......... but he does like to chew my old shoes!
Actually, its quite strange because normally the biggest strongest dog in the litter normally gets re-homed first. He is a big boy and will be bigger than Harley when he grows up. Its nice to see him growing in confidence everyday.

Two Photos
Today we moved the puppies from the whelping box in carpet area to the puppy
pen underneath the stairs, so they can see more things going on in the house and
have more space to move around. A Chinese warrior is guarding them not to move
too far though:)
Below is the photo which was taken yesterday after Harley won his class at
the Champion show.

Southern Counties Champion Show 2012
Two puppies are doing very well, they both weighed over 1700g yesterday. While Steve stayed at
home looking after the pups and Maisy& Mack, I took Harley to Southern Counties CH Show today.
Harley surprised me again. He won a quality yearling class under the international judge Mr Hans
Lehtinen from Finland. Lots of congratulations received from the ring side, I was just over the moon.
This is our best winning so far since I started showing him in late June last year. What a difference has been made for just about a year...He has matured nicely and I am really proud of him.
When we got home, we even received a bunch of flowers from Steve! What a wonderful day!!

Coventry&District Kennel Association Open Show 2012
The show was held at Stoneleigh Park where I take Harley for the ringcraft training every Wednesday.
It's literally only 10 minutes drive away but we made it late and missed our breed class:( Typical!
I knew that there were two other breeds in the same ring first, and took a guess but clearly made
wrong guess.
Fortunately we entered two other classes too so it's not totally waste of time. In fact it turned up to be a
very nice day. I got 3rd in the adult handling class which I had never done before and got a diploma.
Harley surprised me today, he went to the open stake class for AV Gundog Postgraduates- a big entry
class- he won!! He got the first against other breeds in Gundog. I was over the moon!
That was us in adult handling class.
We clearly enjoyed the show today. OMG, no giggling:)

Puppies Arrived Today
It has been a horrible 36 hours, Maisy started her first stage of labour then which lasted 24 hours. We had already contacted the Vet after about 12 hours. Neither Jenny or I slept much last night.
We rang the vet again at 5am, followed their advice and by 6 she started the second stage of labour but there was no sign of her waters breaking and her contractions were irregular and weak. So, we took her to the vet. He gave her an injection to help the process and by 10am we had a lovely little boy.
He has the shape of a flying dragon over his shoulders neck and back........ so his name will be Imperial Dragon. We left Maisy there to make sure all was well and the collected her and Dragon, about 11.30
Maisy was extremely tired and nothing much was happening, but some time later she started showing signs of wanting to give birth again but there were no contractions, and suddenly there was a black discharge which could have meant there was placental separation, so I rushed her back to the vet. Jenny was out but when she got back realised what had happened and where i was, so followed on after.
By this time I had taken the decision to have a C section performed as she still had a t least one puppy inside her. Well, two hours later we had Maisy back with a big girl, who was apparently found travelling the wrong way along the uterus. If she were male I would call her Wrong Way John!!!
The good news is they are both big healthy puppies which accounts for Maisy's size when pregnant, but this is the last litter she will have as we did not want to put her through it again, and we had her spayed.
Ah, I know her name now Wong Wei , she is as pretty as Wei Wei Wong from Pans People!! So given her sense of direction its very fitting.
Overall, though tired, we are pleased we made the decisions to take her to the vet, it definitely saved Wong's life, and they are both really good looking big puppies, with very healthy appetites, and neither of them had difficulty in getting on the nipple. Maisy as before is a very good mum, but now she can just spend out her life being a pet!!

Life without internet
We haven't had the telephone line and internet in the house from Wednesday last week...Life has gone back to the old days: more chatting, playing in the family, and you believe or not more time too... BT people are expected in three days to check the wires...
Today I discovered paying a £2 per day on my iphone enables me to use internet on my laptop because I desperately need to send some files out by emails...So before the BT man coming we have excuse now to be back to modern life.
Actually another important thing I need to do is to update post here about Maisy. We are still waiting for puppies arrival. The expecting date is in fact today, but she hasn't shown any signs yet: no panting, no nesting, no gone off food....Fingers crossed, but please don't deliver overnight:)
The phone was taken yesterday afternoon when we took the boys for a walk. Now what a miserable day again:(

WELKS Ch Show 2012
West England Ladies Kennel Society Champion Show held in Malvern last weekend. It was wet and
cold, the worst show condition even for people with many years' show experience. It took me long time to decide if I should go or not. However, I am glad that we went because Harley obtained his ticket for Crufts 2013. Worth doing so...
The view from three countries showground was very pretty so I took a photo when rain stopped a bit. Now the ticket in hand, I only need to attend some shows for fun, no pressure:)

Gundog Training Day
Friends of mine organised a gun dog training day for charity yesterday so I took both Mack&Harley there.
The venue was actually in the friend's farm where almost 30 dogs and their owner(s) attended.
It turned up to be the most enjoyable day for the boys. Although the weather was funny and we were dry, wet and dry several times, Harley did very well in finding and Mack was just brilliant with most tasks, quick learner, full of energy... I wished that we could have more opportunities to do these rather than ringcrafts:) Mack even had a go with water retrieving...
Upon return I carried on some search on the internet about the gun dog training, unfortunately we just missed Coventry Gun dog training for 10 weeks summer session. Will definitely keep eye on this...
